| The City of North Battleford and Innovation Credit Union are pleased to announce that effective today the new name for the North Battleford Multipurpose Facility will be “The Credit Union CU Plex”.
Innovation Credit Union will be making a 1.5 million dollar investment in the Battlefords community by becoming the overall complex founding sponsor. In return, Innovation Credit Union will receive the naming rights for the lifetime of the complex. Funds provided for the naming rights will be used by the City of North Battleford to develop the facility.
“We couldn’t be happier about taking this leadership role in the fundraising for the Credit Union CU Plex,” says Board President of Innovation Credit Union, Gord Lightfoot. “Given our close ties to the communities we serve, we focus on significant economic development opportunities such as this. It’s our way of assisting in the development of the Battlefords and surrounding communities, and of course supporting all the individuals, groups and organizations that use this complex.”
His worship, Mayor Ian Hamilton was also pleased to work with Innovation Credit on the agreement. “We are very grateful for and excited by this contribution of Innovation Credit Union. It is gratifying when our corporate citizens display such great interest and commitment to the viability and sustainability of our community. This funding announcement further ensures the success of the development of all four of the facilities.”
