September 2	Flooding has devastated an estimated 20 million people across Pakistan. Innovation Credit Union will be helping the Red Cross to collect donations for victims of the Pakistan floods. The collection period will start immediately and run until September 17, 2010. Please note that the federal government is matching, dollar-for-dollar, any individual donations made to the Red Cross for this appeal until September 12.

August 20	Innovation Credit Union and Dickson Agencies in partnership with Great Plains College and Shaw Swift Current Minor Football are proud to present the Ride This--The 3rd Annual Rider Party on August 28th from 3:30pm to 11:00pm at the Stockade Building in Kinetic Park. The Riders vs Eskimos game will be broadcast on a giant inflatable screen at 5pm. There will be live music, free fan favors, watermelon eating contests, food, games, prizes, and a silent auction. Proceeds will go towards SunDogs athletics at Great Plains College and the Shaw Swift Current Minor Football League.

August 6	On June 23, 2010, Saskatchewan credit unions began collecting donations for victims affected by severe weather across the province. While that phase of collection ran to July 22, to fully meet its donation goal of $500,000, the Canadian Red Cross is reactivating its Severe Weather Appeal. Innovation Credit Union will be collecting donations until August 31st.

June 28	The Swift Current RCMP are "Positive Ticketing" this summer. They are praising youth for doing good deeds like wearing a bike helmet when riding their bikes, picking up litter, etc. Local businesses have donated gift certificates that the RCMP officers can hand out as "tickets". They will also be taking the youths' names and entering them in a final grand prize draw which will be done in August. Innovation Credit Union has donated a Dell® Netbook™ for the grand prize draw.
June 25	Dickson Agencies, an Innovation Partner, sponsored the Ponteix Ambulance Golf Classic for the second year and have helped to raise over $6,000 to support the operation of the community ambulance. This is increase from last year's total of $4,200. Special thanks to everyone who helped putting together another successful event.

June 1	In 2009, some courageous North Battleford Branch staff members shaved their heads as a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life. This year, the iShave fundraiser continues! Barry Verhoeven, Jay Crockett, Adrian Delainey, Tyler McKay, and Lee Ulmer of our North Battleford Branch will be shaving their heads if they raise enough funds for the Relay for Life taking place in North Battleford on Friday, June 11th. The iShave event will take place in our North Battleford Branch on June 9th. We would like to congratulate all the volunteers on their dedication to raising money for a cure.

Attendees could purchase a hamburger or cheeseburger and drink for $5 or two hotdogs and a drink for $5 with all proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life. May 17	Innovation Credit Union is proud to announce that the Innovation Team raised a total of $3,519 for the Heart & Stroke Big Bike Fundraiser which took place in Meadow Lake on May 13th. The total raised in Meadow Lake was just over $4,600. The Big Bike staff stated Meadow Lake was the first community they have been to that has raised this amount of funds. Congratulations!
May 14	Some of our North Battleford staff members picked garbage last weekend for the North Battleford “Clean Up The City” and show your “Community Pride” initiative. This initiative was started through the United Way and the City has now partnered with United Way to hold this annual event.

May 5	The Wayne Pruden Memorial Golf Tournament is one of the major fundraising activities the Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Foundation conducts on an annual basis. Community and volunteer support are vital to the success of this fundraising event. Innovation Credit Union has been the Master Sponsor of this event for a number of years and we are proud to once again commit to this wonderful cause. This year's tournament takes place Monday, June 7th in North Battleford.
May 5	Congratulations to District Manager Chad Gartner on receiving his Fellow of the Credit Union Institute of Canada (FCUIC) designation. This designation involves the completion of eight general business courses.

April 26	Innovation Credit Union's Swift Current Branch will be hosting the Saskatchewan Credit Union Wealth Management Professional Day on Wednesday, May 12th. This educational day will feature guest speakers and attendees from across the province.
April 26	Team Innspiration, one of Innovation Credit Union's Relay for Life teams, will be hosting their annual Relay for Life BBQ on Thursday, May 20th at the North Battleford Branch. You can purchase a hamburger or cheeseburger and drink for $5 or two hotdogs and a drink for $5 with all proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life. The BBQ will run from 11am to 2pm. We hope to see you there!
April 26	This spring, Innovation Credit Union will be assisting the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan with its ever-popular “Miracle Balloon Campaign” to help bring a children’s hospital to Saskatchewan kids. You will be able to purchase a $1.00 paper miracle balloon for the Saskatchewan children’s hospital from any Innovation branch location during the month of May. All funds raised in Saskatchewan will stay in Saskatchewan to help our sick and injured children.

April 1	It is with mixed emotions that Innovation Credit Union announces the retirement of Lila Jackson. Lila started in the credit union system in Swift Current in April of 1981. During her 29 years, Lila held many different positions in supervisory, member service and accounting areas. The knowledge that Lila takes with her is invaluable. We will truly miss her but wish her and Bob all the best in their retirement!

March 4	The Swift Current Broncos and Innovation Credit Union Awards Night will be held prior to faceoff at the Broncos final regular season home game against the Moose Jaw Warriors on March 13th. The awards night, which has historically taken place in the Credit Union i-plex auditorium, has been changed to take place on the ice prior to the Broncos and Warriors game. The awards will commence at 7:15 pm with 18 trophies being handed out.
March 4	The third annual Taste of Culture will be taking place April 8-10 at the AgriPlex and AgriVilla at the Exhibition Grounds in North Battleford. March 1	Saskatchewan credit unions were pleased to announce their acceptance of cash donations in support of relief efforts in Haiti on January 18th. On January 21st, Innovation Credit Union responded with a $5,000 donation to assist with Haiti disaster relief. We collected donations at all branch locations until February 12th and are proud to announce the remarkable total collected is $60,444.86! Because the federal government will match anything given dollar-for-dollar before February 12th, this total will ultimately become $120,889.72!
March 1	Innovation Credit Union branches sold Telemiracle Helping Hands during the month of February. We are very proud to donate $863.77 to Telemiracle and thank all those who contributed! Patrick Rokochy, an Innovation Credit Union staff member, will be representing the Credit Unions of Saskatchewan at Telemiracle 34. He will be answering phones and presenting the cheque from all credit unions in Saskatchewan. Ring those phones!

On Wednesday, February 10, the Credit Union Cup will be on display at Innovation Credit Union's North Battleford Branch so that staff and members have the opportunity to have a picture taken with the Cup. SJHL President Laury Ryan will also be at the local arena in the evening to meet with SJHL staff, corporate sponsors and fans.
