Lock'N'Block® is a service that lets you "lock" your Interac Flash debit card to "block" unauthorized or unwanted use through your mobile app or online banking.

To access Lock'N'Block® through online banking or our mobile app:
  • Log in
  • Click Account Services > Lock'N'Block® in online banking or touch the Lock'N'Block icon in the app

InteracĀ® e-Transfer Security Expand/Collapse

It is important to treat your transfers like cash. Please make sure to:
  • Register for Autodeposit. Automatically deposit funds into your account to remove the risk of a criminal intercepting the deposit email.
  • Use answers that aren't easy to guess. Ensure the answer to your question cannot be easily guessed or found on social media. If the notification is intercepted, it will be harder for a criminal to answer and steal the funds.
  • Don't put the answer to your security question in the message box. Only share the answer via a secure channel (e.g. in person or over the phone).
  • Keep your email secure. Be cautious of phishing links. Don’t stay logged in when you’re away from your computer. Use strong passwords that are difficult to guess.
  • Register for banking alerts.Immediately notify us if you sense anything suspicious about your transaction.

Banking alerts provide added protection and convenience to your online banking experience. Stay informed by email or text message when an online event occurs on your accounts including:

  • Your Personal Access Code is changed
  • Attempts have been made to access your account
  • A new bill payment vendor or e-Transfer recipient is added to your profile
  • Your account balance is running low
  • Your term deposit is maturing
  • And more!

  • Log in to online banking or our mobile app
  • Click Messages and Alerts in online banking or tap the Accounts icon then choose Alerts from the top right menu in our app

General Safety Reminders Expand/Collapse

Here are a few more tips to keep in mind this month and always:
  • Don't click on strange links within emails.
  • If you're not expecting an Interac e-Transfer from someone, don't accept it i.e. don't click on any links to log into online banking.
  • Don't use public WiFi to online bank.
  • Don't share passwords or your debit card.
  • Visit the Competition Bureau's website for common scams
