Want to participate in the meeting?
To participate in the meeting, you will need to join from a laptop, desktop or mobile device with a microphone and speakers. You will need a stable network connection, as well (Wifi is fine, but ‘plugging in’ is preferred).
Etiquette and Guidelines
- Please add your full name when joining the meeting.
- Please ensure that your mic is muted when you join the meeting. Your mic should remain muted while others are speaking.
- If an individual wishes to address the meeting, they can use the ‘Raise Hand’ tool or note their desire in the chat function and we will ensure the opportunity presents itself.
- Opportunities for open discussion will be announced.
If you are new to Microsoft Teams, make sure to familiarize yourself with the options in the toolbar. On a desktop your toolbar is available at the top of your screen.
- To Mute or Unmute yourself toggle the microphone button. You may not be allowed to unmute yourself for some parts of the meeting.
- To turn your camera on or off, toggle the camera button.
- To open the chat window, click on the Chat button. The chat window will open on the side of your screen. On mobile, the chat window will open on a new screen.
- You will find more options under the … menu. Here you will find your device settings where you can choose a new camera or audio input or adjust your speaker settings. This is also where you will find the ‘Call me’ option which allows you to switch to using your phone audio if you’re experiencing network or audio problems.
- You will find the ‘Hand Raise’ tool under the Reactions menu. This can be used in instances where you need to address the meeting, for moving motions or voting. On mobile or older versions of Teams you will find the ‘Hand Raise’ option under the … menu.
- On a mobile device you have access to the same tools, but your menu will look different. You can find your Chat button at the top of your screen and other options at the bottom. Hand Raise and other options are available in the … menu.
