Reducing hunger as a barrier to learning and opportunity

Food insecurity puts pressure on families, and some schools do not have their own lunch program. An empty stomach can affect a student’s ability to attend school, stay focused, and succeed. The Innovation School Food Program prepares and delivers nutritious lunches to students who don’t otherwise have lunch.

Providing food, stability, and connection for youth.

Food insecurity can leave youth without the energy, stability, or support they need to fully engage. The Innovation Meal Program provides free snacks and homemade meals in a safe, welcoming space where youth can access food, connection, and care.

Financial Lunch & Learn Series

Empowering Indigenous learners with practical financial knowledge.

Financial decisions shape life after school, from opening an account to using credit wisely. With Innovation’s support, SIIT delivered practical Lunch & Learn sessions on banking, budgeting, credit, saving, and investing.

Innovation Indigenous Arts Partnership Project

Strengthening Indigenous identity, belonging, and leadership through culture and mentorship.

Many youths experience challenging life circumstances and benefit from supportive spaces to persevere through adversity. The Innovation Indigenous Arts Partnership Project brings youth together with supportive adults, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community partners through hands-on Indigenous art and cultural learning 

  • 200+ youth served through cultural and arts-based programming.
  • At least 85% of youth identify having more confidence in tackling “hard things” and trying new things.
  • At least 80% of youth strongly agree that they are making better decisions

Each experience helps youth feel seen and supported while building cultural pride, confidence, and leadership that can carry forward into their families and community.

Lunch Program

Keeping families nourished so they can stay present for their child.

When families are focused on caring for a child in hospital, meals are often the last thing they have capacity to think about. With the help of Innovations contributions and monthly staff volunteers, the Lunch Program provides nutritious, ready-to-go meals that help families stay nourished through long hospital days. 

  • Ronald McDonald served 28,567 lunches in 2025
  • 247 lunches provided each week

Each lunch gives families one less thing to worry about, helping them stay nourished and present for their child during long hospital days.

Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation
Diagnostic Equipment

Helping children access faster, safer, and more comfortable care closer to home

Saskatchewan families rely on Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital (JPCH) for specialized pediatric care. Bladder scanners are a non-invasive way to support diagnosis and treatment for children receiving urology and nephrology care. Through Innovation’s support, JPCH can improve access to priority diagnostic equipment for young patients.

  • Supports pediatric care at a hospital with 85,490 total visits for babies, children, and moms-to-be.
  • Supports priority bladder scanner equipment for pediatric care

Each scan helps children receive faster, more comfortable care while teams make informed decisions.
