Getting a college or university degree is expensive. Plus, a full-time degree requires a lot of your time, commitment, and effort…for years! That’s why we have such a high regard for anyone pursuing secondary education.
We aim to support and encourage education and financial literacy any way we can. We offer:
- an amazing summer student job program,
- financial literacy sessions,
- high school business club support,
- post-secondary student-run initiative support,
- elementary school reading programs, and
- summer reading success programs.
We also want to help university students in particular. It’s why we updated our scholarship program to better meet your needs and schedule, and why it stands out from the rest.
Education through a full-time course or program leaves little time or energy for homework, let alone a job or searching for scholarships. And don’t get us started on the application process. In 2021, it was found that 17% of Canadians took up part-time post-secondary education. In 2013, that number was 13%. This means that more and more Canadians are opting to take full-time courses. To make things easier, our No Essay Scholarship Program has a monthly draw where you could win a $1,000 scholarship without writing that dreaded scholarship essay!
Biggest Obstacles to University Education
While there could be other obstacles to getting a post-secondary education, most fall under two main categories: cost and effort.
Cost
College is expensive. Period. Getting scholarships aren’t easy either. You may have to go through several interviews, write lengthy application essays, and acquire references to even be eligible for a scholarship. (Unless of course, you’d like a scholarship from Innovation). You can win 1 of 4 monthly scholarships to cover tuition fees and other costs. All you need to do to enter is apply and engage with us on social media – by following, liking, commenting, and tagging – and you’ll be eligible to win a $1,000 scholarship without any essay. The Innovation No Essay Scholarship is available to those pursuing a full-time degree, diploma, or certificate program at a Canadian post-secondary school.
Time and Effort Required
Getting a degree or certificate is not easy. It requires big commitments of time and concentrated and consistent effort over a long period. This leaves very little time and effort for anything else. Moreover, you may have to wait months or years to find out if you will receive funding from the scholarships you apply for.
