Terms & Conditions

1. Qualifying Account Holders

*A Qualifying Account Holder must:

• Be a new member of Innovation Federal Credit Union (“Innovation”) and must not have been an Innovation member at any time between January 1, 2016 and the start of the Offer Period;
• Be the age of majority in your province of residence;
• Be a Canadian resident and must not be a resident of Quebec; and
• Meet Innovation’s membership and account opening approval criteria (including without limitation identity verification, fraud prevention, and all legal and regulatory requirements).

2. Offer Conditions

A Qualifying Account Holder will be eligible to receive the Offer after meeting the following conditions:

(a)  Successfully open a personal Innovation Federal Credit Union No-Fee Chequing Account (the “Account”) through Innovation’s Digital Onboarding Platform during the Offer Period and enter the Promo Code when prompted during account opening. The Promo Code may be made available through channels approved by Innovation and may include digital channels or printed promotional materials distributed at Huskie Athletics games or events. Only Promo Codes issued or authorized by Innovation are valid for this Offer. The Promo Code must be entered at the time of account opening and cannot be added after the account-opening process has been completed;

(b)  During the 60-day period after successfully opening an Account, a Qualifying Account Holder must conduct a minimum of 15 qualifying incoming or outgoing transactions on the Account. For the purposes of this Offer, “qualifying incoming or outgoing transactions” means transactions posted to the Account that Innovation determines, acting reasonably, demonstrate active use of the Account. Examples may include debit card purchases, bill payments, pre-authorized debits, direct deposits, electronic funds transfers, Interac e-Transfer®, ATM withdrawals, or other similar account activity. This list is provided for illustrative purposes only and is not exhaustive. Transactions that are reversed, returned, declined, cancelled, fraudulent, or otherwise invalid will not count toward the transaction requirement; and

(c)  The Account must remain open, active, and in good standing (not in an unauthorized overdraft or in a delinquent status) from the time of account opening until the time that the Offer is paid by Innovation.

3. Additional Information

If a Qualifying Account Holder meets the conditions described in these Terms and Conditions, Innovation will make a one-time deposit of $50.00 into the Account, payable by the end of the third calendar month after the month in which the Account was opened. For example, if a Qualifying Account Holder opens their Account in September 2026 and meets the Offer Conditions by November 2026, the $50 bonus will be deposited by December 31, 2026. The Qualifying Account Holder’s No-Fee Chequing Account must be active and in good standing (not in an unauthorized overdraft or in a delinquent status) at the time of the Offer payment. Innovation may verify eligibility and compliance with these Terms and Conditions before paying the Offer.

The recipient(s) of the Offer will be charged a fee of $30 if they close their Account within 180 days of opening the Account, as set out in Innovation’s Account and Fee Information brochure.

This Offer is intended to be available through Innovation’s Digital Onboarding Platform. If a prospective member requires assistance to complete the account-opening process, Innovation may, in its discretion, provide assistance in branch or by phone. In those circumstances, the prospective member must identify the Promo Code before or during account opening, and Innovation staff must confirm that the prospective member has been provided with or directed to these Terms and Conditions before the account is opened.

If the Account is opened as a joint account, the primary account holder must enter the Promo Code during the initial account-opening process. A joint Account will not be eligible for the Offer unless the joint Account is successfully opened during the Offer Period, all Account holders meet applicable eligibility requirements, and all other applicable Offer conditions are met. Joint Accounts will only be eligible for one Offer payment of $50.00.

This Offer is non-transferable and is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. There is a limit of one Offer per Qualifying Account Holder, subject to the qualifications on joint accounts above. The recipient of the Offer is solely responsible for any tax consequences associated with their receipt of the Offer.

Innovation is not responsible for any failure, delay, error, interruption, or technical issue that may affect account opening, promotional code entry, transaction processing, or Offer eligibility.

Innovation employees and directors and their immediate family members are not eligible for the Offer.

Innovation reserves the right to cancel or change these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice, subject to applicable law. Innovation may also deny, revoke, or delay payment of the Offer if Innovation reasonably determines that a person has manipulated or abused the Offer, provided false or misleading information, or otherwise appears to be engaged in any suspicious or fraudulent activity. 

This Offer is made available by Innovation in connection with its collaboration with Huskie Athletics. Huskie Athletics may make the Promo Code available through Huskie Athletics games, events, digital channels, or printed promotional materials. Innovation is solely responsible for determining eligibility and administering and paying the Offer. No statement, representation, promotion, or communication made by Huskie Athletics or any third party will modify these Terms and Conditions or otherwise bind Innovation. Any Huskie Athletics names, logos, trademarks, or other marks used in connection with the Offer are used with permission and remain the property of their respective owner(s).

In the event of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any advertising, promotional material, or event communication relating to the Offer, these Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Innovation reserves the right to interpret and administer these Terms and Conditions in a fair and reasonable manner, and its decisions regarding eligibility and administration of the Offer will be final.

$50 Member Referral Offer Terms & Conditions

Between July 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, (the “Offer Period”) selected Innovation Federal Credit Union members are eligible for a $50 Member Referral Bonus (the “Offer”), provided the following terms and conditions are met.  

Eligibility: 

Referring Members must be a current member of Innovation Federal Credit Union, have been invited to participate as a referring member, and have been provided a referral code by Innovation Federal Credit Union.  

Referred New Members must be a new customer to Innovation Federal Credit Union, be 18 years of age or older, be a Canadian resident, meet Innovation Federal Credit Union’s membership and account opening approval criteria, and cannot have been an Innovation Federal Credit Union member since January 2016. This offer is not available to residents of Quebec.  

Offer Conditions: 

The referring member will be eligible to receive the $50 referral bonus, after the referred new member has met the following conditions:  

1. Successfully open an Innovation Federal Credit Union No-Fee Chequing Account (the “Account”).  

2. Deposit a minimum of $5.00 into their account to pay for the cost of the membership share fee; and 

3. After 60 days of successfully opening their Account:  

• Has conducted a minimum of 15 incoming or outgoing transactions from the Account, and 

• The Account must be active and in good standing (not in an unauthorized overdraft or in a delinquent status) during the 60-day period.  

Additional Information:

3. Additional Information

After the Offer Conditions have been met, the Qualifying Account Holder will be entered into the draw to win a $2,500 Cash Giveaway prize. The draw will occur on the week of October 5, 2026, and the winner(s) will be randomly selected. Winner(s) will be notified by phone or email. Winner(s) will have two weeks (14 days) to claim the prize. If the winner(s) does not claim the prize within this timeframe, the prize will be forfeited, and a new winner(s) will be drawn. Winner(s) will be provided with a cash prize of $2,500. A direct deposit will be deposited to the winning member(s) No-Fee Chequing Account or other operating account.

The Qualifying Account Holder’s account(s) must also be active and in good standing (not in an unauthorized overdraft or in a delinquent status) at that time of the prize draw. If the No-Fee Chequing Account is opened as a joint account, the primary account holder will be entered into the prize draw. If the draw is won by a jointly opened account, the prize will be jointly awarded to the account holders.

By accepting the prize, the winner(s) consent to Innovation publishing their name and prize description on Innovation’s digital channels, including but not limited to social media, digital screens, and website, as well as print publications.

The Qualifying Account Holder will be charged a fee of $30 if they close their No-Fee Chequing Account within 180 days of opening the Account, as per Innovation’s Account and Fee Information brochure.

Limit of one draw entry per Qualifying Account Holder, including Joint Account Holders. The recipient(s) of the Offer is solely responsible for any tax consequences associated with their receipt thereof.
