When communities come together with a shared vision for the future, great things can happen. Innovation Federal Credit Union’s Pierceland Grant Program is one example of that commitment in action—supporting meaningful local projects that help the community of Pierceland continue to grow, thrive, and plan for what comes next.
In 2026, the Pierceland Volunteer Fire Department received $25,000 through the Pierceland Grant Program to support the purchase of a new water truck. The project also received $20,000 through Innovation’s Saskatchewan Grant Program, bringing the total grant support for this important community safety project to $45,000.
A Grant Rooted in Community
The Pierceland Grant Program was created following the amalgamation of Pierceland Credit Union and Innovation. In 2018, Pierceland Credit Union members voted strongly in favour of amalgamating with Innovation, with 93% of voting members supporting the proposal. The amalgamation, effective January 1, 2019, helped ensure continued credit union service and presence in Pierceland while creating opportunities for Innovation to support the community in long-lasting ways.
As part of that commitment, legacy grant funding was established for Pierceland. The program is designed to help local member organizations bring one-time, project-based ideas to life—projects that may require larger purchases, facility improvements, equipment, or other investments that can make a lasting difference.
Helping Protect What Matters
For the Pierceland Volunteer Fire Department, reliable equipment is essential. A new water truck will help support emergency response and fire protection efforts in and around the community. By investing in this project, the Pierceland Grant Program is helping strengthen local capacity, support volunteer responders, and contribute to the safety and well-being of families, farms, businesses, and neighbours.
Projects like this reflect the spirit of co-operation. They show what can happen when member-owned financial institutions reinvest in the places they serve—not only through everyday banking, but through meaningful community support that creates lasting impact.
Our Commitment to Pierceland
Innovation’s relationship with Pierceland did not end with amalgamation—it continued through a commitment to local presence, local support, and local decision-making. The Pierceland Grant Program is one way Innovation honours the history of Pierceland Credit Union while helping the community move forward with confidence.
That commitment is also part of Innovation’s broader Responsible Banking™ philosophy. For us, Responsible Banking means doing the right thing: operating with transparency, supporting members, reinvesting in communities, and making decisions that reflect co-operative values. Whether it’s providing no-fee banking solutions, sharing profits with members, or investing in projects that improve community well-being, Innovation is committed to helping people and places succeed.
Congratulations to the Pierceland Volunteer Fire Department on receiving the 2026 Pierceland Grant Program funding. We’re proud to support this important project and grateful for the volunteers and community members who continue to make Pierceland a strong, caring place to call home.
