Innovation Donates Over $50,000 to Food Banks and Meal Programs

Inflation and rising food costs continue to impact everyone, particularly those who already find it challenging to afford necessities. That’s why Innovation Federal Credit Union once again selected charitable organizations who provide food services to those in need as the recipients of their 2023 Community Impact Campaign.

“As organizations continue to see a rise in the number of vulnerable people needing services, Innovation is committed to supporting food security in our communities,” says Shawna Jardine, Innovation Marketing Specialist – Community. “We couldn’t make contributions such as these without the support of our membership. “Thank you to Innovation members for your business.”

Innovation donated a total of $54,500 to the following organizations:

  • $10,000 to BGC Battlefords
  • $10,000 to Saskatoon Friendship Inn Meal Sponsorship Program
  • $10,000 to The Swift Current Salvation Army Wednesday Night Meal
  • $10,000 to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission - Regina
  • $10,000 to Meadow Lake Outreach Ministries Door of Hope Soup Kitchen
  • $4,500 to Aboriginal Friendship Centres of Saskatchewan (Île-à-la-Crosse, Buffalo Narrows, La Loche)

The donation resulted in approximately 10,000 meals (one meal equals a $5 donation based on the average meal cost across organizations).

The Community Impact Campaign is just one integral piece of Innovation’s Responsible Banking™ commitment. Innovation considers their mandate of giving 2% to 4% of their pre-tax profits to organizations such as this year’s recipients as “the right thing to do”. These contributions are thanks to the support of their membership who recognize doing business with Innovation makes a difference in their community.
