2017 Saskatchewan Top Employer

Innovation Credit Union has once again earned a spot amongst the best employers in Saskatchewan. Canada’s Top 100 Employers organized the 12th Annual Saskatchewan’s Top Employers competition, which recognizes businesses in the province that offer exceptional places to work.

Innovation’s educational investment in their employees was a key reason the organization was selected. “We invest an average of $2,000 per employee for their long-term professional development,” says Amanda Thoen, Talent Development Specialist with Innovation Credit Union. “We’re very dedicated to enhancing our employees’ careers, ensuring we meet their training and advancement needs. It makes me incredibly proud to be part of an organization that invests so much in their staff group.”

Innovation also provides employees with a flexible work environment that helps them to build a strong work-life balance. A third of staff members participate in flexible work arrangements, known for increased morale, employee engagement, and improved productivity.

 Innovation’s commitment to the communities they serve also contributed to their recognition of being part of the Top 100. Innovation made close to $470,000 in donations, sponsorships, and scholarship awards in 2017. Staff made over $18,000 in donations to local charities themselves. Innovation employees are also encouraged to volunteer in their communities and can receive a full paid day off for their volunteer efforts.

“I can’t say enough about our staff members and their contributions to our communities,” says Innovation Credit Union CEO Dan Johnson. “They are truly passionate about making our towns and cities a better place to live. It’s hard to find an organization or local event that our employees aren’t a part of. In 2017, they volunteered over 14,600 hours. It’s amazing.”
